Bristol English students
Roland Clare has used Russell Hoban's novels and stories extensively in his own sixth-form English classes at Bristol Grammar School, inspiring several students to participate in SA4QE 2004, namely Louis Arron, Thom Shaw, Yusra Khan, Dylan Spicer, Mike Warren and Nick Shearer; in 2008 Georgia Murley, Amanda Moorghen, Jessica Bishop Bunn, Caroline Cook, Charlotte Amor, Chloe Quinn, Rosie Harrold, James Fowler, Kieran Boden, Daniel Potter and Thomas Lipscomb; and in 2009 Rowan Evans.

In 2005 the first international convention for Russell Hoban fans took place in London, and was marked by the publication of a fantastic 48-page booklet featuring exclusive contributions from innumerable fans and associates including novelist David Mitchell and actress Glenda Jackson.
